I'd like to take just a moment to tell you a little about myself. I have been in education a total of 26 years. I have served as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, principal, central office administrator, regional coordinator of federal programs, and now as superintendent/principal. Being an educator has been a dream of mine since I was in 3rd grade -- and really the only career I ever endeared. What I like most about this career is the difference educators can make in the lives of so many young children.
My family is very important to me as well. I have a wonderful husband, Steve Sikes, and two boys -- Stephen and A.J. Stephen lives in Akron, Ohio, with his wife (Allie) and daughter (Shannon). A.J. lives in Kingwood, Texas, and has a wife (Jamie) and daughter (Kailey). They each brighten my days in so many ways. I'll be happy to share some pictures anytime I'm asked! (or just click a link below!!!!)
God is also very important in my life. I consider him the Pilot, while I attempt to follow his direction as the co-pilot. I have written the book, God Can You Hear Me Now (A Study of Faith, Prayer and Service to God). I hope to someday (perhaps after I retire) write additional books because I gain so much personally from the study required to write a book of faith.
I love serving as superintendent of Walnut Bend ISD. I plan to update you at least each month to keep you posted on the "happenings of The Bend."
