The 4th six-weeks will start on February 27th.  We will have two weeks of school then Spring Break.  I hope that all students and staff have a restful break and come back well rested from a week of fun.

The time after Spring Break is filled with anticipation of the coming of Summer, school ending, vacations and STAAR testing!

After we return from Spring Break, the 5th, 7th and 8th graders will have one week before they begin taking the first round of the STAAR testing.  The 7th graders will be taking the Writing section of the test.  Both 5th and 8th grades will be taking the Mathematics and Reading sections of the STAAR tests.   We will be concentrating on these areas for the next few weeks.

Students need to remember that they are responsible for completing and turning all of their work in on time.  Ballgames, shopping and other activities are not acceptable excuses for not getting work done.  Please see the Make-Up Work page on my site for the school policy on daily/homework assignments and make-up work.

Students need to be vigilant in their reading for AR Points.  All students have an individualized AR goal and expectations are high.  All students are capable of reaching thier goal by the end of the six-weeks.  Each student has an AR Reading Log that is to be turned in each Monday for a grade.  Each student's AR Points and AR Reading Log together are worth 50% of thier six-weeks grade in ELAR.   AR Points are worth 30% and the AR Reading Log is worth 20% of the grade.  Students who fail to turn in their AR Reading Logs and/or fail to achieve their AR Points goal are in danger of failing the six-weeks.
